The Residenza del Moro is located in the rooms of the piano nobile of Palazzo Niccolini - Bourbon, redefined by a careful restoration which enhanced the original forms and decorations.

The first mention of the building dates back to the 16th century when the wealthy Da Sommaia merchants bought various homes on Via del Moro to transform them into a single large residence.

At the beginning of the 18th century the building became the property of the noble Marquis Bourbon of Monte di Santa Maria, who put up the family coat of arms which still exists on the corner of the building at Via Fossi and Via della Spada. Marquis Lorenzo Niccolini purchased it in 1863 and carried out extensive renovation which continued for many years and even in subsequent decades, under later owners.

The current appearance of the building reflects the grandiose architecture, with the original 16th century facade, a splendid 15th century garden and beautiful 17th century staircase.

Like in a collection of artwork, all of the original frescoes, stucco work and furniture, from the 15th and 19th centuries, create an artistic itinerary which highlights the rooms and suites of the Residenza and are a unique exclusive privilege of its guests.
